Community Fundraising Officer

Job Summary:
Merrifield Consultants is partnering with Cherry Trees, a charity providing home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities and a meaningful break for their families. We are seeking an experienced Community and Events Fundraising Officer to join their small but growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a successful community and events fundraising program to engage with existing and potential supporters.
- Plan and deliver a range of events, including golf days, live music events, and a Christmas market, to raise funds and increase awareness for the charity.
- Build and maintain partnerships with corporates, community groups, and organizations to secure funding and support.
- Manage and grow the charity's Challenge Events program, including partnerships with Choose a Challenge and Run for Charity.
- Develop and implement a strategy to increase engagement and income from existing and new supporters.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in community and events fundraising, with a track record of success in engaging with supporters and raising funds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tell compelling stories and build relationships with stakeholders.
- Event marketing experience, including understanding of tools, systems, and performance monitoring.
- Experience of using a CRM and the importance of using data to provide insights and guidance.
- Understanding of fundraising regulations, health and safety requirements, and general laws.
About Cherry Trees:
Cherry Trees provides a lifeline for families through its home-from-home care for children with complex disabilities and its wrap-around support for the family. The charity supports 70 children from 63 families through 52,750 hours of care, and runs activity days, hosts parent/carer wellbeing days, and provides small but vital financial grants through its Welfare Fund.
