About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Nurse to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Children's Acute Transport Service, you will play a vital role in providing safe and efficient ground and air transport for critically ill children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and education to a designated nursing team, ensuring the provision of high-quality nursing care.
  • Act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner on PCC Transport, promoting a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
  • Assist in the safe, effective, and efficient management of the PCC Transport Service within allocated resources.
  • Undertake outreach education in conjunction with the senior nursing team, facilitating the induction, education, and continuing professional development for all levels of trained nursing staff within the service.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • On the relevant part of the NMC Register.
    • Evidence of on-going, dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty, linked to demonstrable clinical competencies.
    • Possession of or near completion of a relevant degree programme.
    • PCC Transport Experience.
  • Desirable:
    • Assessing & Mentoring Qualification.
    • APLS/EPLS Accredited/Provider.
