Purpose of Role
As an Associate Director, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and assessing the credit risks associated with new financial institution and corporate investments across Sub-Saharan Africa. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) towards informed and responsible lending decisions within this dynamic region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of financial institutions and corporations operating in Sub-Saharan Africa, considering both internal and external factors.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the unique economic, political, and regulatory landscapes across various countries within the region.
- Collaborate closely with banking teams to provide expert guidance on credit structuring, risk mitigation strategies, and portfolio management.
- Leverage your analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify potential risks, and formulate recommendations for informed decision-making.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in the financial sector within Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring the EBRD's risk framework remains relevant and effective.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing credit risks within a complex international financial institution, with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Strong analytical skills, coupled with a deep understanding of financial modeling techniques and data analysis methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders across various levels.
- A Master's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
