Pathology Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Pathology team as a Pathology Support Worker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our laboratory staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our pathology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving, sorting, and processing clinical samples, identifying and resolving problems such as leaking samples, labelling errors, and missing information.
- Performing accurate data input on computers for prolonged periods of time, including patient information and investigations requested by hospital clinical staff and GPs.
- Maintaining attention to accuracy at all times during data input and labelling of samples.
- Following standard operating procedures (SOP) at all times.
- Understanding analytical work that is going to be undertaken.
Requirements
- Excellent keyboard skills and adaptability.
- Ability to prioritize workload and maintain accuracy at all times.
- Good communication skills, including telephone, face-to-face, and electronic communication.
- Medical terminology knowledge is desirable.
- Team player with the ability to work well under pressure.
