About the Opportunity

At Jacobs, we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team on the Sellafield site in Cumbria. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and executing projects and tasks associated with the Jacobs Field Solutions Portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Framework Delivery Manager, you'll work closely with our clients to develop and define project scopes, engage with stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute projects and tasks associated with the Jacobs Field Solutions Portfolio
  • Engage with clients to develop and define project scopes
  • Lead by example, demonstrating the standards set by the business and challenging unacceptable behaviors
  • Support the preparation of estimates and budgets
  • Plan work activities and resources to meet task requirements safely and effectively
  • Collaborate with the team to complete tasks and implement processes in line with client KPIs and end-to-end processes

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing supervisors and operatives
  • Execution of mechanical tasks in line with client requirements
  • Experience of working within nuclear establishments and following Nuclear Professionalism Standards and Expectations
  • In-depth knowledge of legislative, regulatory, quality, and environmental requirements relating to nuclear engineering projects
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualified and Security Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Strong knowledge of Sellafield working procedures and processes with experience in working within the Active Area at Sellafield
  • NEC3 delivery experience and understanding of the CDM Regulations 2015

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Verifying existing mechanical and electrical asset conditions on site
  • Able to navigate and review information against existing P&IDs and Single Line Diagrams and test data
  • Willing to learn and interpret technical drawings and transfer checked and verified information to client's spreadsheets and documentation against various fixed assets on site
  • Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively with others in the team
  • Ability to log in client's various portal systems and upload, download documentation, update client's progress trackers as required under the contract
