Scientific Liaison Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Liaison Scientist to join our team at Diamond Light Source. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting industrial clients with their macromolecular crystallography needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to apply your life science laboratory experience and passion for structural biology to provide expert services to our clients. You will be responsible for providing a full scientific consultancy service, including fragment screening, to industrial users of Diamond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide scientific consultancy services to industrial clients, including designing and implementing experiments to address research problems.
- Take responsibility for sample management, data collection, and reporting to clients for full-service projects.
- Assist in the management of the Soaking Laboratory, including lab organization, reagent stocking, and ensuring the laboratory is user-friendly.
- Contribute to the maintenance of fragment libraries, including quality control, inventory management, and historical record-keeping.
- Support the operation of beamlines for users, including user support and local contact system management.
- Participate in marketing efforts, including presentations at conferences and company visits.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Structural Biology. You will have experience and knowledge in macromolecular crystallography, advanced laboratory work, and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentational skills are essential.
