Position Overview: As a Pension Risk Advisor, you will deliver a high-quality, efficient service to clients contemplating the transfer of risk to the insurance sector. Your primary focus will be on UK defined benefit pension schemes, collaborating with both Trustee Boards and Sponsoring Employers to assist in settling liabilities and mitigating risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the output produced by the team adheres to a high standard of service for clients.
  • Work towards achieving FCA regulation as a pathway to becoming the principal advisor on risk transfer initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to the growth and development of the firm.
  • Build and maintain internal and external professional networks.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to all members of the client team, including identifying and addressing client development opportunities and potential challenges.
  • Possess a Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or an equivalent recognized actuarial qualification) or be in the process of obtaining such qualification with relevant experience in pensions.
  • Scheme Actuary certification is not a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the legislative framework governing UK pension schemes, including disclosure and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Have experience in related areas such as scheme funding, liability management, pension aspects of sale agreements, investment strategies, or managing the practicalities of bulk transfers.
  • Understand associated employee benefits issues.
