Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a mainstream Primary school environment. The specific needs of the children are still being assessed, but if you have experience working with SEND students and possess a nurturing and patient demeanor, this position may be an excellent fit for you.

Position Overview:

This role is designed to commence immediately and will continue throughout the academic year. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the pupil within the classroom, fostering their participation in various activities and helping to overcome obstacles to their learning. You will collaborate closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure that a tailored plan is established for the pupil, with regular reviews to track progress. Consistency and dependability are crucial to help the child develop trusting relationships and feel secure in their educational setting. Regular evaluations of placements will occur throughout the year.

  • Possess at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in a care setting
  • Demonstrated experience working with children
  • Exhibit a calm, confident, and proactive approach, with the ability to take initiative in challenging situations
  • Availability for a minimum of three days per week
  • Hold a Child Only DBS that is accessible via the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates mentioned include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for a permanent role in the future.
