Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) in a mainstream Primary school environment. The specific needs of the children are currently being assessed, but candidates with experience in working with SEND children and a nurturing demeanor will find this position particularly rewarding.
Position Overview:
This role is designed to commence immediately and will span the entire academic year. You will play a crucial role in assisting the pupil within the classroom, promoting their engagement in various activities while helping to overcome challenges in accessing the curriculum. Collaboration with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) will be essential to ensure a tailored plan is established and regularly reviewed for the pupil. Consistency and reliability are vital to foster a trusting relationship and create a supportive school atmosphere. Regular evaluations of placements will occur throughout the year.
- Possess at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in a care setting.
- Demonstrated experience working with children.
- Exhibit a calm, confident, and proactive approach, with the ability to take initiative in challenging situations.
- Availability for a minimum of three days per week.
- Hold a Child Only DBS that is accessible via the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
