Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our established Moving and Handling Team within the Trust. The successful candidate will collaborate with Moving and Handling Advisors to deliver exceptional training programs focused on patient handling and high-risk load management skills for staff across the Integrated Care System.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in an acute clinical environment or in domiciliary care settings, including care homes and nursing facilities.

Work Location

The position may be based at either of our hospital sites, with the intention of appointing one candidate to each location.

Key Responsibilities

Our team provides both classroom and on-site training, guidance, and support to ensure that patient handling practices align with best practices, thereby minimizing the risk of injury and health issues for our staff. This role may involve working in various educational settings, supporting staff and students engaged in healthcare training programs.

Additionally, you will participate in activities within clinical and non-clinical environments to promote effective handling practices.

As a member of our experienced Moving and Handling Advisors team, you will receive comprehensive support for your professional development. We are committed to assisting you in obtaining relevant teaching qualifications and expertise in patient and load handling through ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent training and experience.
  • ROSPA Level 3 Award for Safer People Handling Trainers or a willingness to pursue this qualification.
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training or a willingness to undertake this training.

Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in an acute clinical setting or domiciliary care, including care homes and nursing facilities.
  • Experience in delivering and assessing manual and patient handling training for adults, or a willingness to develop these skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in providing advice on safe working practices to adults in a professional setting.
  • Experience in incident investigation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an NHS Trust, including with staff, patients, and multidisciplinary teams.
