We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Dentist to lead our dental strategy and commissioning efforts in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire.
About the RoleThe Chief Dentist will be responsible for providing dental expertise and oversight to our commissioning plans, working closely with dental practices and other stakeholders to improve the quality and effectiveness of dental services.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of our dental strategy, including access improvement plans and workforce development initiatives.
- Provide dental advice and guidance to ensure accurate communication of dental information to the public and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with dental clinical teams and other partners to improve patient outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
- Develop and implement training pathways for dental care professionals and coordinate research and development programs related to dental services.
- Registered dental practitioner with current GDC registration.
- Highest level of specialist training, equivalent to a doctorate plus further specialist training, research, or study.
- Experience of active involvement in local, regional, or national strategy groups.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with dental clinical teams and other stakeholders.
We are a hybrid organisation, with colleagues based both at home and in the office. For this role, the post holder will be required to travel throughout the region and work flexibly to meet the needs of the organisation and its stakeholders.
