FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

Our client specializes in advanced drive technology and systems, catering to a variety of sectors including energy, transportation, and industrial applications. They are seeking to hire a skilled Field Service Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is primarily remote, with the requirement for candidates to be located in the vicinity of Luton. A company vehicle will be provided for this role.

All new employees will undergo a drug and alcohol screening upon commencement of employment.

Field Service Engineer Offer

Salary range: £50,000 to £60,000, based on experience

Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 17:00 and Friday from 07:00 to 15:30, totaling 41 hours per week

Annual bonus prorated based on the year of joining

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities

Provide service support for commercial vehicles, including electric drive systems and bus transmissions

Conduct diagnostics and repairs at client locations

Perform major unit exchanges as necessary

Support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as required

Offer technical assistance and advice to sales teams

Complete and submit necessary documentation along with engineering reports

Manage maintenance stock levels

Ensure proper maintenance of the company vehicle

Field Service Engineer Requirements

Completion of an engineering apprenticeship is essential; level 5 or higher qualification preferred

Mechatronics and multi-skilled engineering background with an electrical focus

Experience in field service engineering

Familiarity with electric vehicles

Knowledge of zero-emission vehicles, electrical drive systems, and fuel cells

Experience with high-voltage vehicle systems

Understanding of variable speed electric drives and control systems

Proficient IT skills

A valid UK driving license is required
