Job Title: Safeguarding Lead for Children and Young People

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Safeguarding Lead to join our Children's Community Health Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of safeguarding services to children and young people, working closely with our health visiting and school nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding matters to staff and external partners
  • Conduct safeguarding investigations and provide reports to senior management
  • Work closely with our health visiting and school nursing teams to ensure effective safeguarding practices
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including social services and police
  • Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding matters
  • Contribute to the development of our safeguarding strategy and business plan

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of working in a safeguarding role, preferably in a children's health service
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with external partners
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively
