Key Responsibilities

Risk Management Division (RISQ)

The Risk Management framework in the UK operates under a structured three lines of defence model, ensuring clear and distinct responsibilities that align with both the Group framework and relevant local regulatory standards. RISQ serves as the second line of defence, focusing on the independent analysis, challenge, and oversight of the risk-taking activities within the Business Lines, thereby facilitating the effective execution of the Bank's strategic objectives in accordance with its risk appetite.

This position reports directly to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, UK. The ERM function encompasses the following:

  1. Establishment and execution of comprehensive risk management processes, including Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, and the development of the Risk Management Framework, along with ad hoc analyses for the organization.
  2. Coordination and contribution to the critical components of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
  3. Regular assessment of the risk profile and governance structures.
  4. Oversight of regulatory developments impacting RISQ in the UK, and support for the implementation of new regulations as necessary.
  5. Engagement in Group-level initiatives, collaborating with other wholesale locations and Group entities.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  1. Implementation and oversight of standards for essential components of normative documentation, including the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  2. Coordination of the annual update process.
  3. Ensuring alignment with Group normative documentation.
  4. Establishing compliance with regulatory expectations.
  5. Preparation of precise, clear, and efficient documentation and summaries.
  6. Monitoring adherence to the RAF, RAS, and RMF.
  7. Enhancing the risk identification and assessment framework, conducting periodic risk assessment campaigns.
  8. Participation in the ICAAP process.
  9. Reviewing and challenging key ESG risk factors and capital management aspects.
  10. Staying informed on business, regulatory, and market developments, providing insights to improve risk management practices.
  11. Preparing documentation and presentations for relevant governance forums.
  12. Summarizing impacts and actions related to regulatory developments.
  13. Leading or participating in projects as required.
  14. Promoting a robust risk culture and sound governance practices.
Required Profile

Essential Competencies:

  • Adaptability to evolving job requirements, with a proactive mindset towards leading change across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise risk management within a banking context.
  • Extensive experience in developing Risk Management Frameworks, Risk Appetite, risk identification and assessment, capital management, and ICAAP deliverables.
  • Strong quantitative skills related to financial analysis and performance metrics.
  • Expertise in stress testing methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ESG risk factors and their management.
  • Experience in evaluating internal and external risk trends and regulatory changes, articulating their implications on key deliverables.
  • Collaborative team player with high emotional intelligence, committed to sharing knowledge and working together.
  • Demonstrated strong risk culture and professional integrity, with a commitment to compliance with internal policies.
  • Exceptional coordination and project management skills, showcasing impactful leadership.
  • Adept at building effective relationships across all levels of seniority to engage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver well-structured and compelling presentations.
  • Strong writing skills, particularly for governance and normative documentation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a track record of innovation.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
