We are seeking two part-time salaried General Practitioners to become integral members of our committed healthcare team. The ideal commitment is between 3 to 6 sessions weekly, although this is open to negotiation.

Our practice operates across two locations and is recognized as a GP Training Practice. We cater to a patient population of approximately 5,800 individuals. Our team comprises a diverse group of professionals, including 2 GP Partners, 1 Long-Term Locum GP, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Practice Nurse, and 2 Nurse Associates. Additionally, our clinical staff includes a Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Pharmacy Technicians, a Mental Health Nurse, and a Dementia Admiral Nurse. We are supported by a proficient management team and a dedicated reception and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will function as independent practitioners, tasked with delivering high-quality medical services to our patient population while adhering to the GMS contract. The role involves upholding the GMC standards of medical practice and contributing to the efficient management of the practice.

Job Duties
  1. Delivering effective medical care to the registered population
  2. Providing services in line with the GMS/PMS contract
  3. Prescribing medications in accordance with local and national guidelines
  4. Managing long-term health conditions effectively
  5. Handling administrative tasks promptly, including referrals and repeat prescriptions
  6. Maintaining accurate clinical records following best practices and policies
  7. Collaborating with colleagues to share the practice workload equitably
  8. Following clinical guidelines and participating in the audit process
  9. Contributing to the continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
  10. Taking on delegated responsibilities for specific areas of the QOF
  11. Participating in practice meetings and contributing effectively
  12. Supporting the development and maintenance of the practice, including clinical governance and training
  13. Ensuring compliance with the appraisal process
  14. Preparing for and completing the revalidation process
  15. Committing to ongoing professional development and fostering a culture of learning
  16. Assisting in the training of medical students across various disciplines
  17. Supporting practice partners in achieving strategic objectives, including recommendations for income enhancement and cost reduction
  18. Reviewing and adhering to practice protocols and policies
  19. Encouraging teamwork and regular communication among all staff to promote continuous improvement

Qualifications Required
  • Qualified General Practitioner
  • MRCGP certification
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Registration on the National Performers List
  • Appropriate medical indemnity coverage
  • Eligibility to practice within the UK
  • Experience in a primary care setting
  • General understanding of GMS/PMS contracts
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • High level of clinical knowledge and skills equivalent to that of an experienced GP
  • Familiarity with ICB initiatives
