Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom Turning Point Full time

Position Overview

At Turning Point, we are dedicated to assisting individuals throughout the UK facing mental health challenges. As a Recovery Worker, you will play a crucial role in transforming lives by collaborating closely with clients to help them realize their full potential. Our organization operates several established services within Nottingham.

Angel Lace is a supported living facility that caters to individuals with potential dual diagnoses, legal constraints, a history of substance use, and complex support requirements.

With a passion for helping others, you will have the opportunity to empower individuals to develop the skills necessary for independent living. Emphasizing key working, you will manage a small caseload and contribute to the daily operations of the service.

The service runs around the clock, with a schedule that includes day, evening, and waking night shifts, as well as alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Setting a high standard for person-centered support, you will deliver a variety of recovery-focused assistance through key working sessions. Your efforts will significantly impact individuals' lives as you guide and prepare them to acquire new skills and explore avenues for promoting their long-term recovery.

In your role as a Recovery Worker, you will collaborate with clients on their personal journeys, creating tailored support and risk management plans. Ultimately, you will be instrumental in helping them develop skills and coping mechanisms while fostering positive change and independence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

While a relevant qualification is advantageous, it is not mandatory. We seek candidates with experience in the mental health field, who possess a solid understanding of the recovery model, along with a solution-oriented mindset and a person-centered approach.

You should be comfortable taking initiative as well as working collaboratively within a team. Adaptability in a fast-paced environment and the ability to handle challenging situations are essential. Most importantly, you should be someone who enjoys engaging with individuals with diverse needs, demonstrating genuine interest in their well-being, and exhibiting a profound level of empathy, understanding, and patience.
