Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at The West Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Programme and Health & Safety Manager to develop and maintain effective health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to colleagues across the organization.
  • Ensure all necessary risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work are in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Participate in monthly health and safety committee meetings to discuss and address key issues.
  • Support the Programme and Health & Safety Manager in conducting personal risk assessments for staff who require additional support.
  • Deliver health and safety inductions to new staff members and ensure timely completion of inductions at other sites.
  • Design, develop, and deliver in-house health and safety training for new recruits and regular refresher training for all staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff health and safety training.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure all equipment is properly serviced and regulatory checks are completed.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification (essential)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and other relevant standards
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar health and safety role
  • Experience in conducting safety management audits and health and safety training
  • Ability to travel across Hampshire and Devon
  • Valid driving license
