Retail Store Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team at Musgrave. As a key member of our retail management team, you will play a vital role in driving store performance and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the store manager in achieving sales and operational targets
  • Lead and motivate colleagues to follow company policies and standards
  • Manage the store in the absence of higher management, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations
  • Embed company values and maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance
  • Provide top-notch customer service and maintain store excellence through effective inventory management and visual merchandising
  • Support stock take preparation and implement improvement actions to drive sales and profitability
  • Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Handle people management tasks, including recruitment, performance management, and compliance
  • Engage with local community and charity partners to promote the company's social responsibility initiatives
  • Cover various store areas as needed, including sales floor, stockroom, and customer service

Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in retail or a similar management role
  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in stock control, people management, and cost control
  • Good understanding of fresh food retail and its operational requirements
