About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Global Foods R&D Agriculture team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the development of high-quality agriculture raw materials that enable our business to delight consumers and drive sustainable and resilient growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and partner on Foods R&D Agriculture Strategic planning, support priority setting, and integration in Global Foods R&D.
  • Drive the role of quality agriculture raw materials in enabling our agenda to delight our consumers and drive sustainable and resilient growth, while enabling productive PepsiCo partnerships with our network of farmers and growers through science and advantaged raw materials.
  • Integrate scientific and agronomic learning and programs, consumer insights, and external opportunities to build strategies and plans.
  • Work in partnership with the Agricultural Sciences R&D team, the Variety & Breeding team, the Regional trialing teams, and RD teams in product development, and processing, to deliver strengthened agriculture raw materials, and the translation of raw materials into potato chips, connecting End to End systems thinking.
  • Identify and integrate insights from key PepsiCo partners in Agriculture Supply Chain & Agriculture Global procurement, our Global Agriculture Office, and our Global Agriculture sustainability teams and partners in Corporate Affairs, and Regulatory affairs to build into RD strategies and plans.
  • Partner and support RD Agriculture Science team in the creation of key programs such as the Variety Development and Breeding programs, Variety specific agronomy initiatives, processes and protocols for Variety qualification, creation of scientific and digitized variety insights, for key agriculture programs that enable consumer advantage through breeding, and scientific technology.
  • Partner in translation and transition of RD agriculture science breeding and science programs from our Agriculture RD team, into our PepsiCo partners in Agriculture Supply Chain and Global Procurement teams, to enable successful adoption by our partner growers and farmers.
  • Partner on cross-functional RD teams on E2E product initiatives, bringing agriculture and raw material insights to drive consumer and business growth.
  • Represent RD on a number of global corporate teams, bringing and identifying business, and consumer problems to solve, embedding Agriculture strategy into business and brand strategy, and partnering to translate opportunities into technical and scientific efforts in RD.
Requirements
  • Min of +5 years of experience of Scientific or Technical Leadership of initiatives in Agriculture, Crop management, Crop Portfolio Management, Agriculture Science, Raw Material Ingredient Sciences or related fields
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or Agriculture Economic or relevant field. Masters Degree, MBA, or PHD desired.
  • Base knowledge of agronomy, plant breeding, a strong asset.
  • Experience in leading crop portfolios in an ag seed company and interaction with consumer foods companies an asset.
  • Experience in gathering synthesizing and interpreting information, scientific & technical information, consumer insights, market or business data and translating into technical and or business strategies
  • Experience in understanding, interpreting and internalizing external technical opinions and legislation, or policy (eg.
  • Strong communication skills including: the ability to interpret complex technical and scientific subject matter, translate into insights and outcomes, communicate to a range of stakeholders including both technical and non-technical partners, different levels and functions within the organization.
  • Global acumen: sensitivity and understanding to global and local context to enable strategies and recommendations
  • Intellectual Curiosity, an expansive thinker who will engage in continual learning to connect new insights into scientific and business opportunities
What We Offer
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $122,300 – $242,700 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.
