About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our product engineering team and drive the development of our platform. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the team, executing the prioritized product roadmap, and advancing business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a high-performing product engineering team, fostering a collaborative culture and driving continuous improvement.
  • Oversee planning and execution, balancing quality with speed, and managing key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO to align engineering efforts with company goals and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Provide technical oversight, offering guidance and ensuring best practices in architecture and technical direction.
  • Effectively allocate resources, managing budgets and developing top engineering talent.
  • Represent Tillo at industry events, promoting our brand and growing our presence within the community.
  • Educate and up-skill stakeholders and fellow engineering leaders, sharing expertise and knowledge.
About You

We are looking for a proven leader with significant experience managing a cross-functional, scaling engineering department. You should have a strong product mindset, customer understanding, and a track record of building a culture of speed and urgency in a scale-up. You will be able to achieve pace without compromising quality, implement the right processes, and make difficult decisions when necessary.

You will also have:

  • Strong domain experience in API-first businesses or well-scaled software companies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate teams.
  • Proficiency in PHP and Laravel; Python is a bonus.
  • Excellent knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure development principles.
