About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Night Shift Coordinator at the Good Shepherd Secure Unit. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and supervise the care team during night shifts, ensuring that the needs of our young people are met.
  • Contribute to the planning, prioritizing, and organizing of group care for our young people, ensuring that their needs are met in a safe and secure environment.
  • Supervise individuals to achieve agreed work plans and objectives, and ensure that they have opportunities to maximize their performance.
  • Work closely with the House Managers to ensure that the care and support provided to our young people is of the highest standard.
  • Contribute to the promotion of a safe and welcoming living environment in the Houses.
Requirements
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable young people, with a commitment to upholding and promoting Children's Rights.
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Social Care and the Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Caring for Children and Young People at Level 4 or above, or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with excellent communication, relationship building, and management skills.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a registered supervisor within the first three months of employment, and registration as a registered supervisor with the SSSC within six months of employment.
