About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Refuge Support Worker to join our team at Wycombe Women's Aid Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and practical support to women and children experiencing domestic violence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with women in the refuge, recognizing and responding to their emotional and practical needs through one-to-one sessions and group work.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to advocate on behalf of the women and provide comprehensive support.
  • Develop and deliver group work programs to empower women and promote their independence.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to women, acknowledging their experiences and promoting a trauma-informed approach.

Requirements:

  • Passion for working within the domestic violence sector and commitment to a trauma-informed, feminist perspective.
  • Ability to build rapport and work effectively with women from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and provide support.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
