**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Case Worker to join our team at Stonewater. As a specialist in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, you will play a vital role in delivering person-centred, strengths-based support to individuals who are accessing our Brighton Refuge.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage a caseload of customers through their journey, ensuring a strengths-based approach that enables them to articulate their aspirations and realise their potential.
- Assist in administering referrals into the service, with a focus on Safety Planning that is informed by the individual's identity and any possible associated risks.
- Work with specialist support agencies and statutory organisations, particularly with local and national LGBTQ+ charities and support organisations.
- Advocate for the customers we support and support customers to move on from the service in a planned and positive way.
**Requirements**
- Proven experience of working with the LGBTQ+ community.
- Understanding of the practical, emotional, economic, and social differences of those who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly having experienced Domestic Abuse, Hate Crime, and/or Discrimination.
- Proven experience of caseload management, with a clear focus on outcomes for customers and their wider community.
- Experience in carrying out robust safety planning.
- Ability to work in partnership with specialist agencies such as mental health teams, offending services, or other relevant services.
- Specialist knowledge of local and national LGBTQ+ charities and support organisations.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledge of housing and benefits advice (desirable).
**What We Offer**
Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references, and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
