Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transition Consultant to enhance our esteemed Pension Risk Transfer division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating a customized transition strategy for each transaction, sharing it with Trustees, their advisors, and relevant stakeholders within Legal & General. This includes producing documentation that outlines the management of the transition project and establishing effective structures for timely and efficient scheme transitions.
  • Examining scheme benefits and data to draft legal agreements that facilitate proper administration of benefits by Client Services.
  • Conducting initial peer reviews for team members to ensure accurate benefit specifications and data, guaranteeing customers receive their rightful entitlements and that schemes are adequately funded.
  • Overseeing the progress of assigned schemes, conducting regular reviews, and ensuring timely and appropriate responses to customer inquiries while providing necessary information internally and externally.
  • Collaborating with the new business origination team and Transition Managers by advising on administrative capabilities and participating in site visits to assess data quality prior to transactions.
  • Ensuring timely communication and maintaining a comprehensive audit trail of all benefit and data items throughout the onboarding process.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within PRT Client Services by supplying relevant management information as needed.
  • Keeping all internal customers and pertinent third parties informed promptly about key information affecting their processing to ensure fair treatment of the end customer.
  • Assisting in the ongoing development of the team by providing support and training to less experienced members in collaboration with the Transition Team Manager.
  • Ensuring customers receive tailored information to help them understand communications, including any required actions or when further support may be necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Pension Qualification such as CII or PMI (or equivalent experience).
  • In-depth knowledge of pension regulations for Defined Benefit schemes, particularly regarding de-risking processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of benefit structures and administration within Defined Benefit schemes.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Commitment to delivering accurate and cost-effective services by ensuring first-time accuracy.
  • Strong awareness of risks faced by the team and the business, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with project management experience being advantageous.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to foster and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including policyholders, scheme members, regulatory bodies, third parties, and colleagues.
