Eden Brown Synergy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Practice Manager for our Children's Advice and Duty Service. This full-time position involves a commitment of five days a week, from Monday to Friday.

The primary focus of this role is to leverage your expertise to ensure that the initial responses to inquiries from partners, the public, and other stakeholders are consistent, appropriate, and proportionate to the reasons for contacting the local authority.

As a successful candidate, you will need to exhibit a strong understanding of evidence-based methodologies and the capability to provide sound professional guidance in a thoughtful and impactful manner, which may occasionally involve challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of a team specifically trained to handle all new inquiries at the front door, ensuring timely and sound decision-making.
  • Support all team members within the Advice and Duty Service to excel and meet performance expectations, with decisions made within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Lead the advancement of high standards in practice and decision-making within the service.
  • Collaborate effectively with referral and assessment teams regarding new cases requiring evaluations.

The Practice Manager will ensure the delivery of high-quality, effective social work practices by leading the response at the front door and exemplifying excellent social work practices within the Children's Advice and Duty Service.

Working closely with social workers, other professionals, partner agencies, and families—often in challenging circumstances—the Practice Manager will partner with the Team Manager to support team members in utilizing their expertise and decision-making abilities.

Additionally, the Practice Manager will assist the Team Manager in the daily management and leadership of the team, adhering to statutory guidelines and policies. In the absence of the Team Manager, the Practice Manager will assume responsibility for the team's management functions.

Furthermore, the Practice Manager will work alongside the Team Manager to provide effective leadership for the service, ensuring a child-centered approach is consistently applied.

To qualify for this role, candidates must be qualified, registered social workers with experience in safeguarding and court work, along with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience. Supervisory experience is preferred, as well as strong communication skills, teamwork abilities, flexibility, and proficiency in IT.
