Warehouse Operations Manager

Fortis Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Manager to join our client's team in Andover. As a key member of the distribution centre team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Goods In team and ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and supervise a team of 10-30 warehouse employees, including holidays, sickness, timekeeping, and HR queries.
- Train new employees and provide continuous training to existing employees to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.
- Supervise and contribute to general good housekeeping within the warehouse and vehicles, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Ensure all Health and Safety and security obligations are met, and that the warehouse is operating in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse managers to ensure the warehouse is operating efficiently and to contribute to warehouse improvement projects.
- Support business improvement initiatives and develop and establish best practice in warehouse management procedures.
- Plan and monitor workload into the warehouse, ensuring staff resource is allocated effectively within budget.
- Responsible for the timely receipt of incoming goods to the warehouse, and supervise and undertake quality inspections on deliveries to maintain high delivery time accuracy.
- Update receipt of goods using various carrier portals and create PODs for all parcels and pallet deliveries that leave the warehouse.
- Daily interaction with drivers collecting orders and delivering goods, ensuring loads are loaded securely and in line with Health and Safety regulations.
- Manage and order supplies for Retail customers, obtaining the best possible quotes and ensuring timely delivery.
- Monitor and update time management software daily to provide accurate staff costing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team.
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Well-organised, with strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Outlook.
- Strong and disciplined attitude to work, with the ability to manage and supervise a team.
- Ability to work within budget when resource planning.
The successful candidate will work 21.30 - 06.00 Sunday to Thursday (5 nights per week). Ideally, candidates will have a proven work history on nights.
A salary of £40,800 per annum is on offer for the successful candidate.
