Hygiene Team Leader Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a skilled Hygiene Team Leader to join our team within the manufacturing industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the hygiene services on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all regimes and implementations are properly documented.

You will be reporting to the Hygiene Manager and will be responsible for supervising a team of hygiene operatives. Your duties will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that hygiene team members wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Identifying and reporting any issues that arise, and ensuring that they are addressed promptly.
  • Reporting any Food Safety and Health & Safety concerns, and ensuring that the correct forms are completed.
  • Ensuring that cleaning tasks are carried out to a high standard, following set work instructions and safety protocols.
  • Carrying out daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc cleaning tasks, as required.
  • Participating in daily Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits.
  • Ensuring that all related documents and records are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensuring that hygiene operatives are following the correct guidelines when cleaning machines.
  • Managing and developing hygiene staff on the shift to ensure they are proactive and carry out their job roles in a safe and effective manner.
  • Carrying out start-up/inspection checks of cleaning equipment and reporting any damages.
  • Carrying out chemical titration checks.
  • Organizing and controlling stock issues, and generating stock replenishment orders.
Essential Experience
  • Previous hygiene experience within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Supervising a team.
  • Level 2 Food Safety certification.
  • Basic knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  • Basic understanding of BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards.
  • Previous knowledge of hygiene practices.
  • Numerate and literate, with the ability to follow instructions.
