Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Design Engineer to provide technical leadership for assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery for the mechanical and public health team. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will create innovative and groundbreaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute technical leadership at a subject level, including LV, HV distribution, traction HV systems, sustainable technologies, and renewable energy systems.
  • Lead the development and growth of team members, influencing and guiding the development and performance management of staff.
  • Develop and implement strategic inputs, bringing market intelligence and expertise to drive business growth.
  • Manage the evaluation of technical competence of staff and identify specific training or mentoring needs.

Requirements:

  • Competencies in HV traction power and distribution of AC & DC traction power systems.
  • Experience in E&P CRE with in-depth design management experience on rail projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality designs on time and to budgetary constraints.
  • UK Railway experience with in-depth knowledge of traction power systems and Network Rail's Grip Design Processes and Procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in leadership across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Technology-enabled and experience of project delivery in 3D BIM environments.
  • Traction power AC or DC design capabilities and ability to take CRE role.
  • Good experience in EMC, Harmonics, and HV earthing systems.
  • Electrical Power Engineering Degree.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) is a plus.
