About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Senior/Senior Auditor to join our team. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of financial reporting and auditing are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with prescribed systems and procedures.

Main Duties/Areas of Responsibility
  1. Accounts
    1. Prepare management accounts and ensure they are completed on time, accurately, and thoroughly.
    2. Complete all sections and pass on for manager review.
    3. Prepare complex assignments for manager review and utilize junior staff on simpler assignments, overseeing their work standard.
    4. Support trainees and help with the development of their knowledge and skills.
    5. Review annual accounts prepared by juniors and finalize them.
    6. Complete all sections of the accounts file and pass on for manager review.
    7. Indicate clearly any points that need further clarification.
  2. Audit - where applicable
    1. Complete planning documentation to ensure audits are carried out effectively.
    2. Perform the role of the senior representative on site and conduct all relationships with the client in a professional manner.
    3. Utilize and plan junior staff effectively and oversee their work standard.
    4. Review/finish audit file to the appropriate standard, suitable for manager review.
  3. Tax
    1. Deal with complex business tax computations, including corporation tax.
    2. Prepare personal tax returns for manager/director review.
    3. Ensure that clients are given good, pro-active advice as to limiting their tax liabilities within the boundaries of the legislative framework.
  4. Client
    1. Deliver the service and develop the relationship.
    2. Build relationships based on trust, respect, and understanding.
    3. Seek client feedback, act, and report on it.
    4. Communicate by letter, telephone, and face-to-face in a professional manner, recognizing and addressing the clients' needs.
    5. Prepare necessary files/documents for client meetings.
    6. Empathize with the needs of the manager conducting the meeting.
    7. Provide not just basic information, but also notes of a 'what if' nature.
    8. Promote the uptake of add-on company services.
    9. Encourage the uptake of wider, added value services.
  5. Controls
    1. Take account of budgets in utilization of own time and overseeing juniors' time.
    2. Own time management.
    3. Time management of junior staff.
    4. Make manager aware of potential for overrun at earliest opportunity.
    5. Pro-active, not reactive.
    6. Prompt upward communication, predicting possible concerns and offering suggestions to remedy.
    7. Ensure that all laid down systems, processes, and procedures are complied with.
    8. Work is carried out by self and juniors according to company standard operating principles.
  6. Team
    1. Provide daily feedback to all direct reports.
    2. Review jobs and give clear, constructive feedback.
    3. Carry out annual appraisal of direct reports.
    4. Take an active participation in the personal and professional development of all direct reports.

  1. Experience Experienced in ensuring that all aspects of financial reporting and auditing are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with prescribed systems and procedures.
