About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and innovative Sous Chef to join our team at ESS, a leading provider of food and support services to the Defence, Government, and Energy sectors. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional food experiences to our clients and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and present high-quality food that meets the expectations of our clients and customers.
  • Menu Development and Planning: Collaborate with our culinary team to develop and implement new menu concepts and ideas.
  • Team Management and Development: Lead and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results and high standards.
  • Inventory Management and Control: Oversee the ordering, storage, and control of food and kitchen supplies to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
  • Health and Safety and Hygiene: Ensure that all kitchen staff adhere to strict health and safety and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent in a similar role, with a strong background in food preparation and presentation.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and customers.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
