Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Global Category Manager to join our team in Harefield. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Direct/Indirect Purchasing and be responsible for managing cross-functional activity in a multi-site, pan-European environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Benchmarking and Strategy
- Benchmark current cost levels and KPIs, define purchasing strategies, and lead purchasing projects/initiatives to the most effective and successful outcome.
- Cost Management
- Deliver against and improve upon key objectives of cost, service, quality, and other targets.
- Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels. Promote the profile of the purchasing function.
- Innovation and Improvement
- Initiate, encourage, and implement new and innovative approaches to problem-solving, project delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Culture and Leadership
- Facilitate the creation and delivery of the 'One Norgine' culture and participate in purchasing process development and team leadership activity.
- Thought Leadership
- Demonstrate thought leadership within and external to the team, set a behavioral example for others in the team to follow.
- Purchasing Strategy
- Purchasing strategy creation and review for assigned spend categories.
- Implementation and Sourcing
- Lead cross-site strategy implementation with cross-functional team.
- Value Measurement and Reporting
- Value measuring and reporting and target setting.
- Supplier Management
- Supplier assessment and performance management.
- Process Improvement
- Review and recommend purchasing process improvement, innovation, and ongoing learning.
- Change Management
- Drive change, matrix leadership, and Continuous Improvement.

- Train and coach purchasing team members and/or stakeholders.
Requirements
- A proven track record in delivery of effective category management in a multi-site, tactically driven environment is essential.
- Accomplished, competent, and recognized as SME in several GP processes, sub-processes, or categories. Specific interest and experience in distribution and manufacturing categories.
- Ability to influence, engage, and/or motivate stakeholders, operational users, governance committees, and cross-functional team members.
- There is some European travel (approximately one trip per month).
- Fluent English mandatory and second European language is sought after but not a pre-requisite.
