We are seeking a highly skilled Product Owner to join our Underwriting team at Hastings Direct. As a Product Owner, you will play a critical role in driving the development of our underwriting products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Risk Pricing teams, Data partnership teams, and Underwriting development teams to implement new internal and external data, as well as driving innovation that supports our ambitions and vision.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Solution Architects to ensure that all product backlogs are scrutinized to identify all relevant system implications and any technical aspects required are fully scoped into the requirements.
- Act as the conduit between Underwriting and the scrum team, and define the vision for the scrum team so they understand the expected outcome.
- Ensure all requirements are documented and communicated in accordance with approved methodology (including user stories with acceptance criteria). Ensure that requirement and design documents are appropriately distributed, reviewed, discussed, modified, and ultimately approved (where appropriate).
- Passion for agile methodology and experience of leading and working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to drill down client requirements in order to capture information with precision. The ability to meet timelines is essential.
- Experience in working in a software development team.
- A proven ability to plan, undertake, and finish activities to achieve high-quality results.
- Experience of the Insurance Industry would be a distinct advantage.
