We are seeking a highly motivated and talented undergraduate student to join our Research & Development function in Southampton, UK. As an Undergraduate Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge scientific research projects, collaborating with our expert teams to drive innovation and product development.

About the Role

This 12-month placement is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in a life science (Pharmacology, Neuroscience, Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, or a related subject) to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative industrial setting. You will be part of our Novel Scientific Capabilities and Foresights Team within Science Discovery, working on validating novel and cutting-edge experimental procedures to enhance our understanding of product science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the translational science framework by designing and optimising study protocols
  • Thoroughly review data to inform future studies and identify product development opportunities
  • Effectively communicate and present findings to team members and across the wider business
  • Support with conducting internal pilot studies
  • Collaborate with teams across BAT R&D
  • Collaborate with external agencies and scientists
