This Multi Academy Trust, based in Merseyside, currently operates four educational institutions and is poised for further expansion, creating additional career opportunities and professional development for its staff.

The IT Director has reached out to Hays to find an Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in M365 to enhance their established IT team and contribute to the Trust's growth and future initiatives.

Your Role

Reporting directly to the IT Director, you will oversee the development and upkeep of the Trust's infrastructure, with a significant emphasis on cloud technologies (M365, Azure & InTune). You will manage technical aspects of the infrastructure, aligning with the broader IT strategy and supporting the execution of IT projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and configuring new software and servers.
  • Building and deploying new hardware, including imaging laptops.
  • Managing and administering VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Overseeing network switches and all communication technologies such as M365, VoIP, and Exchange.

From a maintenance standpoint, you will ensure that all servers and software are current, plan and implement upgrades, procure necessary hardware, and assist the organization in rolling out new technologies.

Additionally, you will implement security policies and procedures, keeping them updated, regularly reviewing IT documentation, and communicating changes to staff.

As part of the larger IT team, you will collaborate with colleagues to deliver the IT strategy, provide updates on upcoming changes and new technologies, support the execution of new IT projects, and further develop the overall IT infrastructure.

Qualifications for Success

To excel in this role, you should possess substantial experience as an IT/Infrastructure Engineer and have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365, having operated in an environment where you were responsible for both the maintenance and administration of a cloud infrastructure.

Ideal qualifications include M365 Fundamentals, Administrator, and Azure Fundamentals; however, experience in a cloud environment is essential.

A commitment to delivering high-quality IT service and a passion for working in the education sector as part of a collaborative team are also vital.

What You Will Receive

In return, you will receive a competitive salary ranging from £34,000 to £36,000 and will be part of a growing organization that offers further growth and advancement opportunities.
