Swindon, Swindon, United Kingdom TE Connectivity Full time

Join TE Connectivity as a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer

At TE Connectivity, you will harness your expertise while collaborating with a diverse team to contribute to a safer, sustainable, and interconnected world.

Position Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams serve as process authorities in stamping, molding, and assembly operations, ensuring optimal performance in quality and production output. Our specialists possess deep knowledge in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly methodologies, focusing on the enhancement and standardization of manufacturing processes.

The Manufacturing Engineering Teams empower TE business unit facilities to achieve TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) goals, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), and share Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP). They provide guidance on tool and machine duplication, corrections, and enhancements. Additionally, they design and develop manufacturing processes and automation systems to facilitate new product launches and improve existing product lines.

Furthermore, these teams collaborate with Product Development to select and optimize tools for part production and determine the most effective manufacturing strategies based on anticipated production volumes, quality standards, and manufacturing locations. They act as a liaison between engineering and production to ensure new designs are manufacturable and that production ramp-up is seamless. They also support research and development teams in creating sample manufacturing equipment, product prototypes, and samples.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for daily manufacturing operations, including CNC Machining, Anodizing, Assembly Processes, and Testing.
  • Deliver projects aimed at enhancing capacity, sustaining products, introducing new products, and implementing process improvements to boost site productivity.
  • Gather and analyze data to propose solutions for production and technical challenges, including justifications and return on investment calculations for capital projects.
  • Ensure all process controls, including documentation, machine recipes, BOM & routes, PFMEA, and specifications, are current and accurately maintained.
  • Manage process changes with appropriate documentation in accordance with business protocols, including notifications to customers and agencies.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints with effective solutions within designated business timelines.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards promptly.
  • Support Technical, Planning, and Production managers through regular updates on project plans and progress.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to meet improvement targets.
  • Resolve in-process quality issues and non-conformances in production.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings to assist in resolving ongoing business challenges.
