Position Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are pivotal in overseeing processes related to stamping, molding, and assembly. They ensure that these processes operate at peak efficiency, focusing on quality and productivity. With expertise in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, our engineers possess a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes. This includes the optimization and standardization of stamping, molding, and assembly processes within our manufacturing facilities.

The Manufacturing Engineering Teams empower TE business unit plants to meet TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) standards, implement Centers of Excellence (COE), and share Best Demonstrated Practices (BDPs). They also provide guidance on tool and machine duplications, corrections, and enhancements. Our engineers are responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes and automation systems, applying these innovations to new product developments and the optimization of existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on manufacturing support through expertise in materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Lead projects aimed at increasing capacity, sustaining products, introducing new products, and enhancing processes to boost site productivity.
  • Analyze data to propose solutions for production and technical challenges, including justifications and payback calculations for capital investment initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date process controls, including documentation, machine recipes, BOM & routes, PFMEA, and specifications.
  • Ensure all process modifications are documented and controlled in accordance with business protocols, including customer and agency notifications.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints with effective solutions within established timelines.
  • Promote a safe working environment by identifying and reporting hazards promptly.
  • Support technical, planning, and production management through regular updates on project plans and deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to achieve set targets.
  • Resolve in-process quality issues and non-conformances during production.
  • Respond to inquiries from the global sales team regarding non-standard product requests.
  • Participate in daily operations meetings to assist in resolving routine business challenges.

Qualifications

  • Experience in extrusion or wire and cable manufacturing.
  • Engineering qualifications are preferred.
  • Practical experience with machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions quickly.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of manufacturing IT and MS applications.
  • Six Sigma and 8D qualifications; Green belt level or higher is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A motivated and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude towards driving change.
