Position Overview

We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Lead Psychological Therapist within the Working Age Adults, Community Treatment Team. Key Responsibilities

The team is committed to delivering exceptional, trauma-informed, and empathetic care that fosters recovery and enhances well-being.

In this role, you will conduct specialized assessments and provide both individual and group therapeutic interventions to clients experiencing non-psychotic conditions. You will collaborate as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team, engaging in triage, assessment, formulation, and care planning. Additionally, you will offer supervision and have the chance to participate in training initiatives, including hosting placements for trainees. You will also play a vital role in the local leadership team, contributing to service enhancements aligned with ongoing transformation initiatives.

About Our Organization

The Community Treatment Team is a large, collaborative multi-disciplinary group dedicated to mental health care. You will be part of a vibrant network of psychologists, psychological therapists, and mental health practitioners across various teams. Our services encompass a wide range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Arts Therapies, and low-intensity interventions, alongside a well-established online Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program. We are also working to strengthen partnerships with community and voluntary organizations to enhance our service offerings.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Doctoral-level training in clinical psychology, covering models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, multiple psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology, accredited by the HCPC and British Psychological Society.
  • Registration as a practitioner psychologist with the HCPC.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Pre-qualification training in research methodology, staff training, or other applied psychology fields.
  • Additional qualifications in at least one therapeutic model relevant to this client demographic.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Knowledge

  • Understanding of specialized psychological therapies for challenging client groups.
  • Proficient communication skills for conveying complex clinical information to clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Doctoral-level knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis in clinical psychology.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development as mandated by the HCPC.
  • Formal training in clinical supervision of trainees and other staff members.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment across various care settings.
  • Demonstrated specialist training and experience through a minimum of 50 hours of clinical supervision over at least 18 months.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision.

Desirable Knowledge

  • Familiarity with legislation pertinent to mental health and client groups.
