About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist - Stroke & Ventilation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment to patients with complex neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify patients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions to patients with stroke and ventilation-related conditions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other forms of psychotherapy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement training programs for healthcare staff to enhance their understanding of psychological aspects of neurological conditions.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies to improve patient care and outcomes.

Person Specification

  • Postgraduate degree in clinical psychology and eligibility for membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Clinical Psychology.
  • Experience in working with patients with complex neurological conditions, including stroke and ventilation-related conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a high degree of professionalism and emotional resilience.
  • Knowledge of research methodology and complex data analysis, with the ability to apply this knowledge in clinical practice.
