About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Internal Communications Manager to join our Communications function at Network Rail. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for sourcing and writing engaging content, supporting the management of our digital internal channels, and providing insights from our comms data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sourcing and writing compelling content that engages our internal audience and supports our business objectives
  • Supporting the management of our digital internal channels, including our intranet, enterprise social media platform, and email service provider platform
  • Providing guidance on effective use of our platforms and technical support to ensure seamless communication across the organization
  • Collaborating with other teams to develop multi-channel communications plans that meet business objectives and deliver an excellent user experience
  • Using data analytics platforms to track engagement rates and identify trends and potential improvements
Requirements
  • Education to degree level or equivalent qualification in communications or a related field
  • Proven experience in shaping and delivering key messages to various audiences and meeting their individual needs
  • Ability to provide guidance on communication issues and develop strategies to support business objectives
  • Demonstrable excellent written communications skills and ability to produce accurate and effective content quickly and to deadlines
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work at pace with multiple stakeholders and tasks
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in developing digital communications channels and interest in new, emerging communications tools
  • Experience of working in a large multi-site organization with a diverse colleague base
  • Evidence of influencing key decisions at a senior level and working with subject matter experts and external suppliers to deliver improvements
