Water Sector Consultant

Location: North East England
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Bonus

Advanced Engineering Solutions Limited (AES) is enhancing its consultancy services within the water sector. We are looking for a commercially focused Water Sector Consultant to contribute to our growth in this domain. Candidates with a background in pipeline engineering are preferred.

Position Overview

AES is well-regarded by Water Utilities and Industrial Water users for its expertise and strategic guidance regarding the long-term sustainability and critical risk factors of client assets. This position will concentrate on supporting our Water Industry division by managing existing projects and identifying new prospects with UK Water Companies as they prepare for the upcoming Asset Management Plan (AMP) cycle.

As a Water Sector Consultant, your main duty will be to utilize your knowledge in pipeline engineering, materials science, and structural analysis to spearhead the growth of our consultancy services. You will be instrumental in assisting clients in making informed choices regarding their asset investments, maintenance, and risk management.

Moreover, you will supervise the preparation of condition assessment reports and work towards maximizing the commercial value of the assessment data that AES possesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the expansion of AES's consultancy services within the water sector.
  • Support ongoing projects and seek new business opportunities with UK Water Companies.
  • Lead the production of condition assessment reports, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Enhance the commercial value of AES's assessment data to improve client services.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing a consultancy practice or a strong desire to do so.
  • Bachelor's degree in general, civil, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in pipeline engineering, structural engineering, and stress analysis, preferably within the water sector.
  • Some familiarity with materials science and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in quantitative data analysis.
  • Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
