Water Sector Consultant

Location: North East England
Salary: To £60,000 + Bonus

Company Overview: Advanced Engineering Solutions Limited (AES) is enhancing its advisory capabilities within the water sector. We are in search of a commercially oriented Water Sector Consultant to contribute to our growth trajectory in this field.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in pipeline engineering. This position is based at our office in the North-East of England.

Role Overview:

AES is well-regarded by Water Utilities and Industrial Water users for its industry knowledge and strategic counsel regarding the long-term sustainability and critical risk factors of client assets.

This position will primarily concentrate on supporting our Water Industry division by managing existing projects and identifying new opportunities with UK Water Companies as they prepare for the next Asset Management Plan (AMP) cycle.

As a Water Sector Consultant, your main duty will be to utilize your expertise in pipeline engineering, materials science, and structural analysis to drive the growth of our consultancy services.

You will play a pivotal role in assisting clients in making informed decisions regarding their asset investments, maintenance strategies, and critical risk assessments.

Furthermore, you will oversee the production of condition assessment reports and work on maximizing the commercial potential of the assessment data held by AES.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Propel the expansion of AES's consultancy services within the water sector.
  • Support ongoing initiatives and uncover new business prospects with UK Water Companies.
  • Lead the creation of condition assessment reports, ensuring top-quality deliverables.
  • Enhance the commercial value of AES's assessment data to improve client offerings.

Qualifications Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in growing a consultancy practice or a strong desire to do so.
  • Bachelor's degree in general, civil, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in pipeline engineering, structural engineering, and stress analysis, preferably within the water sector.
  • Some familiarity with materials science and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in quantitative data analysis.
  • Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
