About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Floating Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service in Richmond. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in enabling vulnerable individuals to achieve greater independence by providing flexible and tailored support packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/Manager
  • Conduct initial and continuous assessments of needs and potential risks, agreeing levels of support and actions
  • Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting available services and resources
  • Build trusting relationships with customers, working proactively with the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities
  • Support customers in undertaking domestic tasks, providing practical assistance where necessary, to ensure a high quality of accommodation
  • Develop links with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide engagement opportunities for customers in the community
  • Empower customers to access the services and benefits they are entitled to
  • Undertake administrative work, maintaining accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
  • Encourage and enable tenants to manage their rent accounts effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team
  • Proactively chase referrals to ensure properties are filled efficiently
  • Engage in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills
  • Provide day-to-day instruction/supervision of Assistant Support Workers/domestic staff/Personal Support Assistants where appropriate
  • Undertake other duties consistent with the grade and nature of the post as may be reasonably assigned
  • Involving customers in the design, development, and delivery of the service
  • Ensuring Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times and upholding all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
