We're committed to providing excellent care and services to our clients and children, which has contributed to our rapid growth. To maintain this pace, we're seeking a Relief Chef Manager to join our team.

The Role

As the Relief Chef Manager, you'll support our catering facilities in schools within your region, focusing on operational and financial performance. Your primary goal will be to deliver high-quality food and service while showcasing your creativity and flair.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing kitchen teams, providing coaching, training, and motivation to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Supporting the control of catering operations, including stock, food, and labor costs, to maintain efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensuring consistency in food and service standards delivered to students and staff.
  • Driving sales through monthly promotions and added-value events to increase revenue.
  • Managing and improving controllable costs to optimize profitability.
  • Overseeing menu development to ensure it meets the needs and preferences of our clients and students.
  • Maintaining company systems, procedures, and legislation to ensure compliance.
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure standards are met and identifying areas for improvement.
About You

We're looking for someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional food and service to our schools. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • OND or HND qualification (advantageous but not required)
  • Driving license
  • Craft-based experience using fresh ingredients
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Financial understanding of gross profit management and achieving sales targets
  • Line management experience
  • Experience within a similar environment

  • 35 hours per week, with no late nights
  • Working 38 weeks per year, based around term time
  • £14.50 per hour, plus paid mileage
