We are seeking an Educational Facilitator to engage with students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. It is essential to connect with and inspire all students through creativity and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 8 students, and you will be supported by a teaching assistant, allowing you to build meaningful relationships with each student.
You will join a dedicated and effective team where open communication and professionalism are vital. While the work can be demanding, it is also incredibly fulfilling. Your primary responsibilities will include teaching, developing curriculum plans, and creating lesson outlines. Establishing rapport with students, families, and caregivers is crucial, and you will collaborate with various agencies to address student challenges and obstacles to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
Cultivating an inspiring educational atmosphere with high expectations for student achievement and growth. Designing, producing, and revising curriculum plans to align with educational standards, inspections, and accreditation requirements, ensuring compliance with guidance from relevant authorities. Creating educational resources and pathways that cater to learner needs and meet the standards set by Catch22 and its commissioners. Preparing lessons for off-site students to be delivered by support staff. Guiding and supporting learners to reflect on their progress and set constructive goals for improvement. Maintaining discipline and a safe environment for students, prioritizing their well-being. Fostering effective relationships with students and their families, building trust and support within the educational process. Engaging with external agencies as necessary. Performing relevant administrative tasks related to teaching, including examination entries, attendance tracking, and invigilation.Additional Duties:
Serving as a role model; promoting the vision and values of Catch22 and the Education Directorate. Adhering to Catch22 policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, data protection, and confidentiality. Participating in personal and professional development activities and collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
A recognized higher education qualification with substantial experience in teaching and curriculum planning, with a commitment to pursuing Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Experience working with young people, particularly those with complex behavioral and additional learning needs. Strong behavior management skills with students who exhibit complex needs and challenging behaviors. Previous experience teaching at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. A solid understanding of the National Curriculum and its practical application. Comprehensive knowledge of behavioral techniques and theories and their implementation. Awareness of statutory requirements regarding equal opportunities, discrimination, health and safety, safeguarding, and child protection. Proficient in planning and assessment methodologies. Extensive understanding of diverse teaching, learning, and behavior management strategies, including how to tailor learning experiences to help all students reach their potential.
