About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Wagamama. As a key member of our kitchen management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our back of house operation, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the kitchen management team in achieving our culinary goals and maintaining a positive kitchen culture.
  • Ensure the quality of our food, managing inventory, and various kitchen operations to meet our high standards.
  • Develop and grow our junior chefs, providing guidance, training, and support to help them reach their full potential.
  • Manage labor and rotas to ensure optimal staffing levels and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen management team to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy working environment.
  • Contribute to the development of new menu items and culinary initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing or supervising a kitchen team.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with inventory management and labor scheduling.
