Position Overview

As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you will be integral to the upkeep of our advanced machinery, ensuring peak operational performance. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to a forward-thinking environment that appreciates your skills and commitment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and collaborating with Senior Maintenance Technicians.
  • Maintaining a tidy workspace and ensuring a safe, clean environment at all times.
  • Adhering to the company's Health & Safety Policy and keeping up with changing statutory regulations.
  • Completing all tasks in line with the necessary regulations and standards.
  • Managing repairs and breakdowns to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Conducting fault analysis and driving continuous improvement across the site, focusing on critical equipment and addressing root causes of failures.
  • Executing planned and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Utilizing predictive maintenance strategies to support a LEAN manufacturing approach.
  • Working within the company's Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) framework to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Keeping accurate maintenance records and ensuring proper allocation of work hours.
  • Engaging in reliability analysis to identify trends, recurring failures, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participating in maintenance enhancement projects to support departmental goals related to installation, utility reduction, and equipment reliability.
  • Assisting in the training of new staff, including apprentices.
  • Coordinating with equipment suppliers regarding installation, reliability, and diagnostic issues.
  • Performing mechanical tasks as required, within your skill level and training.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship in mechanical or mechatronic engineering, ideally to HNC or equivalent level.
  • A minimum of 1 year of post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths.
  • Expertise in maintaining mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, vacuum systems, and mechanical drives/gearboxes.
