This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust as a Consultant Obstetrician. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality obstetric care to patients, including managing the Labour Ward, Antenatal clinics, Section Lists, and Maternity Assessment Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a full range of obstetric skills, including managing the Labour Ward, Antenatal clinics, Section Lists, and Maternity Assessment Unit.
- Collaborate with existing consultants and the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in trust leadership programmes and support the Safeguarding team.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.
- Provide continuing responsibility for patients in their charge and work within a team-based structure to support care across both hospital sites.
- Full GMC Registration.
- MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification.
- CCT or equivalent ('equivalence' CESR must be confirmed by PMETB/GMC by date of AAC).
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry via CCT within 6 months of date of the AAC.
- ATSM - Advanced Labour Ward / High risk antenatal.
- ATSM - Maternal Medicine with interest for Perinatal Mental Health or equivalent.
- Safeguarding Level 3 or above.
- Other higher degree or diploma (, MD, PhD, FRCS).
- Postgraduate qualification in medical education.
- Experience of undergraduate teaching and supervision.
- Experience of clinical supervision and mentorship.
- Experience in research including recruitment to clinical trials.
- Peer reviewed publications.
- Evidence of continuing research.
- Evidence of leadership.
- Evidence of implementing change within a department/service.
