About the Role
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Secretary to join our Paediatric Department. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide comprehensive support to the Paediatric Diabetes Team and contribute to the smooth operation of our department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Paediatric Diabetes Team, including typing clinic letters, referrals, and other correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings and appointment arrangements, maintaining an Outlook Calendar and ensuring timely communication with staff and patients.
- Ensure databases are up-to-date with regular data inputting and maintain accurate records.
- Support Diabetes training events by booking meetings, composing and sending invitations, and organizing catering.
- Provide administrative support at regular diabetes meetings, including taking and typing minutes.
About Us
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. Our services are provided from three locations: The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with recent secretarial/administrative experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, and a strong attention to detail. A NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification is essential, and a GCSE standard (English) or equivalent is also required. Desirable qualifications include the AMSPAR Medical Secretarial Diploma or equivalent and experience as a medical support secretary or medical audio typist.
