Position Overview

We are looking for dedicated NMC Registered Nurses and Midwives to join our team on a flexible basis during the flu season. The successful candidates will be tasked with performing clinical responsibilities related to immunisation, primarily in educational institutions and community health settings. Our nursing staff typically work from Monday to Friday, with hours extending into evenings and weekends as needed. Weekend shifts are compensated at a higher rate.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer vaccinations to 20 to 25 school-aged children per hour during the flu season.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, organizational leaders, and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.

Job Duties

- Support the operation of our School Aged Immunisation Service.
- Assist Programme Managers, Team Leaders, and Clinical Leads as required.
- Travel to various locations as necessary to deliver care.
- Provide a high standard of evidence-based care to patients.
- Engage in clinical supervision and contribute to the professional development of staff.
- Report and manage clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in audits, offering recommendations based on findings and sharing insights with the team for continuous improvement.
- Attend clinical supervision sessions as directed by the Clinical Lead.
- Actively participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Conduct Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from guardians.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as appropriate for the role.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working within Patient Group Directions (PGD).
  • Familiarity with the National Immunisation Schedule.
  • Knowledge of informed consent principles.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Understanding of cold chain management, ordering, and logistics.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Relevant Nursing and/or Midwifery qualifications.
