Job Title: British Sign Language Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated British Sign Language Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education.

Job Summary:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with students who have special educational needs, supporting their learning and development in a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the lead teacher in delivering lessons using British Sign Language to students with hearing impairments.
  • Assist students with understanding and completing tasks, providing one-on-one support as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and develop individualized education plans.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • British Sign Language Level 1 (BSL L1) certification is a minimum requirement.
  • Prior experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • British Sign Language Level 2 (BSL L2) certification.
  • Additional certifications in special education or related fields.
Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a classroom setting with students who have special educational needs. The working hours are full-time, following the school schedule. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive team of educators and will have access to continuous professional development opportunities.
